I. Position Summary: The Patient Care Tech performs assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and
Patient needs as assessed by the RN. The Patient Care Tech supports nursing personnel in providing care to patients and assists with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organized environment for healthcare delivery.
Performs assigned tasks and activities that include functions such as bathing patients and bathing patients.
Monitors and reports patients’ cardiac rhythms and other monitored vital signs assuring a safe patient care environment.
I. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT Certification, or must have completed first year at an accredited Nursing program which included a medical/surgical rotation, and BLS-Healthcare provider through the American Heart Association required.
B. Education: Must successfully pass competency EKG test within 6 months of hire.
C. Experience: One year hospital experience preferred. Competent skills to operate monitor systems and computer. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, heart rate, and arrhythmias and communicate abnormalities to nurses and physicians within a year of hire
